No Pets Allowed Distance: 2 miles Round-Trip Difficulty: Easy/Moderate Elevation: 200 feet The trailhead is located about 1 mile east of the visitor center. Park in the paved pull-out on the north side of the road near the fire danger indicator sign. Once a two-track road, the Windmill Trail provides access to the grasslands region of the park. The trail visits a historic windmill and corral before gently ascending into the foothills below Montezuma Peak. This trail also provides access to grassland habitat birding opportunities.
