What you'll see 🌊 River or creek🦌 Wildlife🏛️ Historic site🚲 Bikes🏃 Trail running

The Towpath follows the route mules walked while hauling canal boats between Cleveland and Akron. It is flat, crushed limestone, and passes locks, the Canal Exploration Center, the Beaver Marsh and a dozen villages. The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad runs alongside it.

Tips
The railroad's Bike Aboard programme lets you ride one way and take the train back for a small fee - the best way to do a long stretch. Level and hard-surfaced throughout, so it works for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
