The Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument protects 114,000 acres of forest and grassland at the junction of the Cascade Range and the Siskiyou Mountains in southwestern Oregon and northern California. It was proclaimed in 2000 - the first national monument set aside expressly for the protection of biological diversity - and expanded in 2017. The convergence of three ecoregions makes it one of the most botanically diverse places in the United States.
